FOR FAMILY SUCCESS
The family is the
smallest unit of the society. It is the basic unit that makes up the community,
state or nation and the world at large. The family system is the smallest
governable system. The governor of the family is the Father to be deputized by
the Mother. They are charged with the responsibility of the success of the
family. Like a nation, every family has resources that are supposed to be
transformed to physical wealth. When the resources available to the family are
well managed, maximized and appropriated, the family will succeed. When the
available resources are mishandled, the family remains poor and passes it’s
poverty to the next generation.
The price for family
success is the responsibility of the heads of the family. For any family to
experience success, the heads of the family must pay the necessary price for
success. Nothing good comes easy. Nothing just happen, things are made to
happen. In every successful family you see today, somebody in that family paid
the price for their success. The price may be paid by the great grandfathers,
the grandfathers or the immediate fathers. In reality, every family started
poor. Every nation started poor. Riches families and nations are built by a
particular generation of people from such family or nations. So, for any family
to enjoy riches, someone must be willing and able to pay the price of success.
The family heads must be able to harness the resources of the family to create
the foundation for wealth creation. The following are the wealth creation
resources available to families. There are two main family resources, thus:
- MATERIAL RESOURCES: some families have some material things inherited from their grandfathers. Material like, lands, buildings, business systems, investment holdings etc.
- HUMAN RESOURCES: These are children of the family. The brains and minds of the children which are members of the family are the human resources available to the family. A family is made up of father, mother and children. The brain of the children must be developed to produce physical wealth. John F. Kennedy the 35th president of America said; “Human minds are the fundamental resources”. The mind is the greatest fertile ground in the world. A child with a sane mind is a fountain of intangible resources that can transformed into wealth if well harnessed.
HARNESSING FAMILY RESOURCES
The
most important resources of the family are the brain and mind of the children
of the family. Family heads must pay the price of giving them quality
education. Nelson Mandela said;
“Education is the greatest weapon which we can use to change the world”.
Any family that neglect education may not make head way. The success of any
family depends on the quality of education given to the children in the family.
It is not on the quantity of material inheritance. Inheritance without balanced
education can be wasted. A well-educated child will build his own wealth
without depending on the inheritance from his family. A well-educated child
will know how to manage his inheritance rather than waste it.
A
family without material inheritance great can build it on the brain of their
children through balanced education. Balanced education is the type of
education that not only affects the brain of the child but the mind as well.
Balanced education is blend of intellectual education and ethical value based
education. A child with a wee-developed brain and mind can create abundant
wealth. Wealth creation is a function of a well-developed brain and mind.
In
a nut shell, you can build a success family no matter your background. You
family have the basic resources you need. You just need to pay the price.
Parents must be determined to give their children the best of education. They
should be able to ignore some enjoyment for their children sound education. If it
takes doing tedious jobs to give their children this crucial legacy, they
should be willing to do it.

§ Emotional wealth:
Father and mother must be in love. They should not allow their love they
confessed on their wedding day to die. Your family should be an atmosphere of
true love. If love between parents are cordial, it has a positive psychological
impact on their children mental health.
§ Physical wealth:
You must maximaize your mental powers to create physical wealth for your
family. If you cannot create physical property, you must be able to create
intellectual property out of your children. If you can give your children
quality education and training, you have created intellectual property that can
make your family succeed in the nearest future.
§ Spiritual wealth:
Your children should be influenced to know their source. Parents should be the
spiritual heads of the family. You must assume that responsibility. Your commitment
always influence your children. If you are committed to the things of God, your
children will learn that culture from you. You must show your children the ways
of the lord. It pays to serve God. Your family should be committed to the service of God.
